Medbury Scholarships

Scholarship applications for the 2018 intake are now closed.

Academic Scholarships for boys entering Year 5

The Medbury School Trust Board provides these scholarships for boys entering Year 5 in 2018. All applicants should be academically able if entering for these scholarships. These scholarships are not available to current Medbury students.

Two scholarships for 30% of tuition fees, are offered for four years’ education (Years 5, 6, 7 and 8). Applications are invited from students in Year 4 at the time of application. A copy of the applicant’s latest school report will be required. Candidates will sit a series of written examinations of a standard suited to academically able Year 4 students. Short-listed applicants will then be invited for an interview with the Headmaster.

Academic Scholarship for a boy entering Year 7

The Medbury School Trust Board provides a scholarship for a boy entering Year 7 in 2018. All applicants should be academically able if entering for this scholarship. This scholarship is not available to current Medbury students.

One scholarship for 50% of tuition fees, is offered for two years’ education (Years 7 and 8). Applications are invited from students in Year 6 at the time of application. A copy of the applicant’s latest school report will be required. Candidates will sit a series of written examinations of a standard suited to academically able Year 6 students. Short-listed applicants will then be invited for an interview with the Headmaster.

Academic Boarding Scholarship for a boy entering Year 6

The Medbury School Trust Board provides this scholarship for a boy entering Year 6 in 2018. All applicants should be academically able if entering for this scholarship. This scholarship is available to internal and external applicants.

One scholarship covering 50% of boarding fees for three years’ education (Years 6, 7 and 8) is offered. Applications are invited from students in Year 5 at the time of application. A copy of the applicant’s latest school report will be required. Candidates will sit a series of written examination of a standard suited to academically able Year 5 students. Short-listed applicants will then be invited for an interview with the Headmaster.

All Round Ability Boarding Scholarship for a boy entering Years 5 to 8

The Medbury School Trust Board provides an all round ability scholarship for boarders in Years 5 - 8 who are new to Medbury School. This scholarship is available to boys who are currently in a Year 4 - 7 class, and is tenable for up to four years. This scholarship is not available to current Medbury students.

One scholarship covering 50% of the boarding fees for each year of the period awarded. Applicants must submit a piece of writing with their application in the form of a letter to the Headmaster, stating in their own words why they would like to board at Medbury, and what makes them a suitable candidate. The letter should be no more than 150-200 words, and be in the boy’s own handwriting. A copy of the applicant’s latest school report will be required. Short-listed applicants will then be invited for an interview with the Headmaster.

Music Scholarship for a boy entering Year 7 2018

The Medbury School Trust Board provides this scholarship for a boy entering Year 7 in 2018. All applicants should be musically able if entering for this scholarship. This scholarship is available to internal and external applicants.

One scholarship covering 50% of tuition fees for two year's education (in Years 7 and 8) is offered. Applications are invited from students in Year 6 at the time of application. A copy of the applicant's latest school report will be required.

Candidates will attend an audition at which they will be invited to perform a recital on their musical instrument. Short-listed applicants will then be invited for an interview with the Headmaster.
