Middle School Team


 

Scott Johnson - Middle School Team Leader & Year 6 Teacher

Scott has been at Medbury since 2014. He has been teaching for nine years, in schools in Taranaki, Blenheim and Qatar. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Philosophy from University of Otago, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Teaching from the Dunedin College of Education.


 

Warren Durant - Year 6 Teacher

Warren commenced teaching at Medbury in 2016. Prior to this he taught at Crawford Preparatory School, Sandton and Michaelhouse, in South Africa. More recently Warren taught at The Cathedral Grammar School since 2009. Warren has a Bachelor of Primary Education degree from Natal University, a Bachelor of Education degree (with Honours) in Leadership and Management from The University of The Witwatersrand, and a Postgraduate Certificate in the Effective Practice in Gifted Education.


 

John Ogston - Year 6 Teacher

John joined the teaching staff at Medbury in January 2018, having taught previously at Russley School.  John has also taught English at Marlborough Boys' College where he was a senior boarding house supervisor. John holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching from the University of Canterbury and a Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Teaching from the Graduate School of Education. He enjoys a range of sports, reading and pottering in the garden.

 

Anna Oborne - Year 5 Teacher

Anna has been teaching at Medbury since 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning from the Christchurch College of Education. After graduating she lived overseas for 11 years, teaching in both London and Sydney. She has worked in a range of different schools and taught from Years 1 to Year 6.

 

Danielle Bowden - Year 5 Teacher

Danielle joined Medbury in January 2018, having previously taught at schools in both Auckland and Christchurch. She holds a Bachelor of Physical Education majoring in Exercise Prescription and Sport and Leisure Studies from University of Otago, and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) from the University of Auckland. Before finding her true passion of teaching and learning, Danielle worked in physical rehabilitation and as a Swim Instructor.


 

Nick Black - Year 4 Teacher

Nick has been working at Medbury since 1999. Initially he worked in the Boarding House as a Tutor and as a Relief Teacher. In 2000, he was appointed as a Year 6 Teacher, and continued to work in the Boarding House. In 2005, he spent sometime overseas and returned to Medbury as a Year 5 Teacher. In 2016, Nick took a year’s sabbatical, working on the family farm, and continued to work weekends in the Boarding House as a Boarding Master. He is currently teaching a Year 6 class while working as a Boarding Master. Nick holds a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning from the Christchurch College of Education. 

Tanya Princeton - Year 4 Teacher

Tanya has been teaching since 1992 across all age ranges. She has been at Medbury since 2009 teaching in Year 4. She taught in London for nine years, mainly in the private school system. She holds a Bachelor of Education (with a double major in History) and a Diploma of Teaching from Canterbury University.
