The 2017 Trust Board Members
- CHAIRMAN - DAVID HIATT BCM
David is the Managing Director of Canterbury Guiding Co, a venture servicing both the luxury tourism market, as well as international corporations doing business in New Zealand. He also sits on the Small Business Development Group, a government appointed advisory board. David was a Medbury School Old Boys Association representative on the Board prior to becoming Chairman in 2016.
- DEPUTY CHAIRMAN - NICHOLAS TYLER BE CIVIL, BSC
Nicholas is the Southern Regional Manager for Higgins Contractors, who are a family owned civil infrastructure and roading company based out of Palmerston North. Prior to this he was the Chief Executive of Calcon, a Christchurch based roading and site works firm. Calcon is now one of the Higgins Family of Companies. Nicholas is the Deputy Chairman of the Medbury School Trust Board and a Medbury School Old Boys Association representative on the Board.
- RICHARD AUSTIN BBS, FCA, AETI
Richard is a principal of iQ2 Private Wealth Ltd, a Christchurch based specialist wealth management company. He is also an independent Director of several companies and a large charitable organisation. Richard is a Chartered Accountant and was elected the President of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) in 2012. He has been Chair of the Canterbury Westland branch of NZICA and was made a Fellow of the Institute in 2010 in recognition of his contribution to the profession. Richard is an Independent Trustee on the Medbury Board.
- MARK COCHRAN B.SURV, MNZIS, RPSURV
Mark is a Director of Woods Ltd, a multidisciplinary professional services consultancy, specializing in the areas of infrastructure, planning, urban design, architecture and land development. He is a Registered Professional Surveyor with 20 years’ experience in the surveying, engineer and land development sector and has been involved in a broad range of commercial, residential and infrastructure projects. Mark is a Medbury Parents Association representative on the Board.
- SIMON DORSET B.A. LL.B
Simon is the Senior Tutor in Law at the University of Canterbury and a member of the University’s Learning and Teaching Committee. In addition to his University role, Simon consults to a Canterbury law firm and between 2010 - 2013 he was a Disputes Tribunal Referee. Before joining the University of Canterbury, Simon was the Director of Programmes at the College of Law New Zealand and prior to that he was Director of the Articles Training Program for Western Australia. Simon has been involved in a number of development aid activities in the Pacific. Simon is a Medbury Old Boy and is an Independent Trustee on the Medbury Board.
- JILL EVANS B.ED DIP.TCH
Jill is on the teaching staff at Elmwood Normal School, where she holds the management position of Curriculum Leader. In addition to teaching, Jill is undertaking a Master of Education endorsed in Curriculum and Pedagogy through the University of Canterbury. Jill’s previous roles in education include Deputy and Assistant Principal positions in Co-Ed Full Primary Schools in Christchurch. Jill is also a former parent of Medbury and is an Independent Trustee on the Medbury Board.
- ANTHEA HERRON B.A. LL.B
Anthea is Senior Legal Counsel for Kordia Limited, a State Owned Enterprise which delivers telecommunications and broadcasting services to businesses. Anthea has more than 20 years experience as a lawyer in Australia, United Kingdom and New Zealand, as well as particular expertise in Health & Safety and Cyber Security. Anthea is a Medbury Parents' Association representative on the Board.
- MICHELLE MURRAY BSC
Michelle is a qualified project and programme manager at Spark, with more than 14 years of extensive and diverse experience in project management. Michelle has a proven track record in delivery across a diverse range of IT Infrastructure and Telecommunications projects. Michelle is a Medbury Parents Association representative on the Board.
- BEN VOICE
Ben farms in Canterbury and is a Director of New Zealand Pork. Ben is a Medbury Old Boy and past parent. Ben is a Medbury Foundation representative on the Board.
